Hello Scarf Tutorial

This Tutorial was written in PSP9,
but other variations should work also.
SUPPLIES NEED:
JASC PSP
I used version 9 but other versions will work.
Animation Shop
Tube
My tube was from a group share.
Mask
Pattern
Stars(Optional)
Spazorific Font
I got my font here.
Supplies here.
Supplies include mask, stars,pattern and font.
Performance Notes:
All settings will remain the same unless specified.
Always use symmetric checked for borders unless noted.
This tutorial assumes you have a working knowledge of PSP.
All patterns with use the following settings:
Angle = 0
Scale = 100
PREPARATION:
Open tube,mask,stars,and pattern in PSP.
Colorize greyscaled pattern and stars to match your tube.
To Colorize:
Adjust>Hue and Saturation
Input the two numbers from the color you want.
Material Box
Set pattern to foreground.
Set Black to background.
Open Spazorific font on desktop or download to Windows/Fonts.
Open Animation Shop and minimize.
Let's begin!
Header Directions:
1. File>New Image>340 X 475 pixels
2. Flood fill with pattern.
3. Layers>Mask Layer>From Image
Settings:
4. Layers>Merge>Merge Group
5. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow
Settings:
6. File>New Image>245 X 390 Pixels
7. Flood fill with pattern.
8. Image>Add Borders 3 Black
Image>Add Borders 3 accent color from tube
Image>Add Borders 3 Black
9. Copy and paste as a new image to mask image.
10. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow
Optional: Steps 11 and 12
Feel free to add more stars or other accents.
11. Copy and paste starts as a new layer.
12. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow
13. Copy and paste tube as a new layer.
14. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow
15. Image>Canvas Size
Settings:
600 X 600 Pixels
Placement:
Center
17. File>New Image>95 X 465 Pixels
18. Flood fill with pattern.
19. Layers>New Mask Layer>From Image
Settings:
20. Layers>Merge>Merge Group
21. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow
22. Edit>Copy and paste to header as a new layer.
See mine for placement.
23. Layers>Duplicate
24. Image>Mirror
Letters for Scarf:
25. Material Box Settings:
Set Black to foreground.
Set color from tube to background.
26.Click on your text tool.
27. Text Settings:
Create as: Vector
Direction: Vertical and Right
Font: Spazorific
Stroke: 2
28. Write HELLO on the scarf image not the scarf on the header.
29. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow
30. Edit>Copy only the HELLO Word.
31. Minimize Scarf for background.
32. Paste HELLO to the left and right scarf on the header.
33. Layers>New Raster Layer
34. Layers>Arrange>Arrange to Bottom
35. Flood fill with a color that matches.
36. Layers>Merge>Merge Visible
37. Layers>New Raster Layer
38. Add your watermark.
39. Layers>Merge>Merge All Flatten
40. Crop header to your liking so that the scarfs are closer to the top.
Tubes vary.
41. File>Export to Jpeg at 25 compression to save.
You are done with the header.
Background Directions:
1. Restore Scarf image
2. Image>Canvas Size
Settings:
1280 Width
465 Height
Placement:
Left Center
3. Layers>New Raster Layer
4. Layers>Arrange>Send to Bottom
5. Flood fill with the same color as header's background..
6. Activate top layer Hello Word on the layers pallet.
7. Adjust>Add Noise
Settings:
Gaussian
Monochrome checked

8. Edit>Copy Merge
9. Restore Animation Shop and paste as a new image.
10. Back to PSP, Edit>Undo Noise
11. Adjust>Add Noise
Settings:
Gaussian
Monochrome checked

12. Copy Merge and paste after current layer in Animation Shop.
13. Edit>Select All
14. File>Optimized Wizard
Settings:
and
15. File>Save As to save.
You are done with the background.
Letter Creator
Tile background.
Center header.
You are now done with this tutorial.
