Candy Cane Bling Bling Tutorial

This Tutorial was written in PSP9 and Animation Shop.
Other versions should work also.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Tube or Mine

Performance Notes:
All settings will remain the same unless specified.
Always use symmetric checked for borders unless noted.
This tutorial assumes you have a working knowledge of PSP and Animation Shop.
PREPARATION:
Unzip all files.
Open Animation Shop and minimize.
Open all files in PSP.
Colorize all files to match your tube.
Write down the Hue# and Saturation# from the dark and light color.
Adjust>Hue and Saturation>Colorize
Then add your numbers here.
Material Box
Set white to foreground.
Set accent color from tube to background.
Let's begin!
1. Open new file 600 X 600
2. Flood fill with white or your choice.
3. Copy and paste Christmas Slats to workspace.
4. Image>Resize Christmas Stats to 130%.
Settings:
5. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow
Settings:
Factory Default
6. Copy and paste Xmas Backs to workspace.
7. Image>Resize Xmas Backs to 120%.
8. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow
9. Activate Claudia Medeiros-MerryChr- or your tube.
10. Copy and Paste tube to workspace.
11. Image>Resize as needed.
12. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow Settings:
Optional: Add Text
13. Layers>New Raster Layer
14. Add Watermark.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Non Animated Directions:
If you don't want to animate the header, stop here.
*(File>Export to jpg at 20 compression.)*
Continue here to animate header.
15. Highlight Slat Layer (Raster 2)
16. Effects>Plugins>Alien Skin Xenofex 2> Constellation
Settings:
Settings: Bling Bling
17. Highlight Xmas back layer.
18. Adjust>Add noise
Settings:
19. Optional: If you used text, highlight text layer.
Add noise or bling.
Keep the same setting as above
20. Edit>Copy Merge
21. Paste in Animation Shop As New Animation.
22. Back to PSP.
23. Undo 2 times or 3 times if you used text.
24. Highlight Slat Layer
25. Effects>Plugins>Alien Skin Xenofex 2>Constellation
Settings:
Change Random Speed by clicking once.
26. Highlight Xmas back layer.
27. Adjust>Add Noise
Settings:
Change to 35.
28. Optional: highlight text layer if you have text.
29. Add noise or bling. Keep the same settings as above.
30. Edit>Copy merge
31. Paste in AS After Current Frame.
32. Edit>Select All
33. File>Optimizating Wizard
34. File>Save As to save.
You are done with the header.
Background Directions:
1. Activate Christmas Slate.
2. Crop Tool
Crop the first 3 slats.
Like this:
3. Image>Resize 80 pixels Wide.
Height will self-adjust.
4. Image>Canvas Size
Settings:
1280 or your preference width.
Keep the original height.
Placement
Left Center
5. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow
Settings:
6. Layers>New Raster Layer
7. Layers>Arrange to Bottom
8. Flood fill with white or your choice from header.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Non Animated Directions:
If you don't want to animate the background trim, stop here.
*(File>Export to jpg at 20 compression.)*
Continue here to animate background trim.
9. Highlight the slat layer.
10. Effects>Plugins>Alien Skin Xenofex 2>Constellation
Settings:
Change the random speed back to 1.
Keep all other settings as before.
11. Edit>Copy Merge
12. Edit>Paste AS NEW ANIMATION in Animation Shop.
13. Back to PSP.
14. Undo once.
15. Effects>Plugins>Alien Skin Xenofex 2>Constillation Settings:
Change Random Speed once.
16. Edit>Copy Merge
17. Edit>Paste in AS After Current Frame
18. Edit> Select All
19. File>Optimizating Wizard
20. File>Save AS a gif to save
You are done with the background.
