Brushed Fur Bubbles Tutorial

This Tutorial was written in PSP9,
but other variations should work also.
SUPPLIES NEED:
JASC PSP
Graphic: I used a graphic from the work of Shu.
You can visit his gallery here.
Performance Notes:
All settings will remain the same unless specified.
Always use symmetric checked for borders unless noted.
PREPARATION:
Open graphic in PSP
No sides should be longer or wider than 550 pixels.
Resize if necessary.
Shift D three times.
Close original.
You should have three copies of your graphic now.
Minimize two of them.
Choose a trim color from your graphic.
Let's begin!
1. Effects>Image Effects>Seamless Tiling
Settings:
Default
2. Adjust>Blur>Gaussian Blur
Settings:
Radius = 20
3. Effects>Art Media Effects>Brushed Strokes
4. Layers>New Raster Layer
5. Flood fill with a light color from graphic.
Lower the opacity to your liking.
I lowered mine to 60.
6. Layers>Merge>Merge Visible
7. Effects>Image Effects>Seamless Tiling
8. This is pattern 2.
Minimize it.
9. Maximize second copy of graphic.
10. Effects>Image Effects>Seamless Tiling
Settings:
Default
11. Adjust>Blur>Gaussian Blur
Settings:
Radius = 20
12. Effects>Texture>Fur
Settings:
13. This is pattern 2.
Minimize it.
14. Activate third copy of graphic.
We will be adding borders to this graphic.
15. Image>Add Borders>3 Black
16. Image>Add Borders>5 Trim color
17. Select the trim color with the magic wand.
Effects>3D Effects>Inner Bevel
Settings:
18. Image>Add Borders>3 Black
19. Image>Add Borders>20 Color not in graphic
20. Select this border with the magic wand.
21. Flood fill with pattern 1.
22. Effects>3D Effects>Cutout
Settings:
23. Image>Add Borders>3 Black
24. Image>Add Borders>5 Trim color
25. Select the trim color with the magic wand.
Effects>3D> Effects>Inner Bevel
Settings:
26. Image>Add Borders>3 Black
27. Image>Add Borders>35 Color not in graphic
28. Select this border with the magic wand.
29. Flood fill with pattern 2.
30. Effects>3D Effects>Cutout
Settings:
31. Image>Add Borders>3 Black
32. Image>Add Borders>5 Trim color
33. Select the trim color with the magic wand.
Effects>3D Effects>Inner Bevel
Setttings:
34. Image>Add Borders>3 Black
35. Layers>New Raster Layer
Add your watermark.
36. File>Merge>Merge All
37. Shift D and Minimize.
38. File>Export to JPEG at 25 compression to save.
You are done with the header!
Background Directions:
1. Maximize the copy of your header.
2. Using your crop tool, crop part of the frame.
Like this:
3. Layers>Promote Background
4. Image>Canvas Size
Settings:
Double the width and keep the same height.
Placement = Left Center
5. Layers>Duplicate
Image>Mirror
6. Layers>Merge>Merge All
7. Image>Resize to 100 width
8. Layers>Promote Background
9. Image>Canvas Size
Settings:
10. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow
Settings:
Vertical = 2
Horizontal = 2
Opacity = 50
Blur = 5
Do not check shadow on new layer.
11. Effects>Image Effects>Seamless Tiling
Settings:
12. Layers>New Raster Layer
13. Layers>Arrange>Send to bottom
14. Flood fill with a light color from graphic.
15. Effects>Texture Effects>Texture
Find Hatch Fine Smooth or one you like and apply it.
Settings:
17.Effects>Image Effects>Seamless Tiling on bottom layer only.
Settings:
Default
18. Layers>Merge>Merge All Flatten
19. File>Export to Jpeg at 25 compression to save.
You have completed your background.
Letter Creator
Tile background.
Center header.
You are now done with this tutorial.
