Birthday Present Tutorial Author: Ann Stalls Date: September 10, 2008 Skills Level: Intermediate This Tutorial was written in PSP9, but other variations should work also. SUPPLIES NEEDED: Tube: your choice or mine I used a Raggedy Ann Tube from a Group Share. cdsign_mask01 mask unbenannat-maks Arial Black Font or your choice. 2 solid colors from you tube and one pattern from your tube or use mine. Cyclinder from 3D Shapes Preset Shapes Plugins: MuRa Meister>Copies Plugins: Here Supplies Here. Supplies include tube, cyclinder Pre Shape, pattern, 2 solid colors, and masks. Notes: All settings will remain the same unless otherwise stated. This tutorial assumes you have a working knowledge of PSP. All patterns will use the following settings: Angle = 0 Scale = 100 Preparations: Download the 3D Shapes Preset Shapes to: My Documents/My PSP Files/Preset Shapes Open Mask unbenannt-35 in PSP and minimize. Open Mask cdsign_mask01 in PSP and minimize. Open tube in PSP. Choose a font trim color from you tube or use mine. Choose an accent color from you tube or use mine. Set colors to material box. Create a seamless pattern from tube for font fill. Performance Notes: All settings will remain the same unless specified. Always use symmetric checked for borders unless noted. Let's begin! Header Directions: 1. File>New Image 600 X 600 pixels 2. Flood fill with a solid color from a tube. 3. Layers>New Mask>From Image Look for Unbenannt-35 Mask Settings: 4. Layers>Merge>Merge Group 5. Effects>3D>Drop Shadow Settings: 6. Layers>New Raster Layer 7. Flood fill with pattern or solid color. 8. Layers>New Mask>From Image Look for cdsign_mask01 Settings: 9. Layers>Merge>Merge Group 10. Effects>3D>Drop Shadow 11. Layers>New Raster Layer 12. Flood fill with pattern or solid color. 13. Layers>New Mask>From Image Look for cdsign_mask01 Settings: 15. Layers>Merge>Merge Group 16. Effects>3D>Drop Shadow 17. Image>Rotate>Free Rotate Settings: Right 10 18. Layers>New Raster Layer 19. Flood fill with pattern or solid color. 20. Layers>New Mask>From Image Look for cdsign_mask01 Settings: 21. Layers>Merge>Merge Group 22. Effects>3D>Drop Shadow 23. Image>Rotate>Free Rotate Settings: Right 20 24. Layers>New Raster Layer 25. Layers>Arrange>Send to the Bottom. 26. Flood fill with white or color of choice. 27. Minimize header. 28. Select Trim color to foreground. Select pattern to material box to background. 29. File>New Image 147 X 155 Pixels 30. Click on the Pre Shape Tool Settings: 31. Draw your cone on the new image and stretch it until it fits the new image. 32. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow 33. Maximize the header. 34. Edit>Copy and paste as a new layer on header. 35. Effects>Plugin>Mura Meister>Copies Settings: 36. Edit>Copy and paste your tube as a new layer. 37. Resize tube if necesary. 38. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow 39. Image>Canvas Size 630 X 630 Settings: Bottom Center 40. Flood fill the bottom layer with your background color. 41. Click on the top layer on your layer's pallet. 42. File>New Raster Layer 43. Click on PreShape Tool 44. Use the elipse shape to draw around the parts of the header. Move it so there is room for the text. 45. Layers>New Raster Layer 46. Click on the Text took and center the mouse on the new elipse shape. Settings: 47. It should look like this. 48. Hightlight the elipse Vector layer/hit delete. 49. Hightlight the Text Layer. 50. Right click on it/Convert to Raster Layer. 51. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow 52. Move the text. See mine for placement. 53. Resize to your liking. 54. Layers>New Raster Layer 55. Add your watermark. 56. File>Export to Jpeg at 25 compression to save. You are done with the header. Background Directions: 1. File>New Image 90 X20 Pixels 2. Flood fill with font pattern. 3. Image>Add Borders 10 font trim color Settings: 4. Image>Canvas Size Settings: 1280 Width 200 Height Placement: Left Center 5. Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow Settings: 6. Effects>Seamles Tiling Settings: 7. Layers>New Raster Layer 8. Layers>Arrange>Arrange to Bottom 9. Flood fill with white or color of choice. 10. Activate top layer. 11. Copy and paste bow in the middle. See mine for placement. 12. File>Export to Jpeg at 25 compression to save. Letter Creator Tile background. Center header. You are now done with this tutorial. That's it!
